As the nation continues to mourn for Queen Elizabeth II following her death at the age of 96 last week, many businesses across the country have decided to close their doors for a day as a show of respect for the late monarch.
On Monday 19th September, the day of the Queen’s funeral, everything from shops to cinemas and even doctor’s surgeries will close their doors to give their staff time to reflect on her majesty’s life.
A number of major events that were previously scheduled have also been cancelled as a part of respect, with the travel disruption caused by so many people heading to London for the funeral itself, also leading to several sporting fixtures also being cancelled.

Museums & Galleries Many iconic institutions on the British arts and culture scene have agreed to close on Monday for the funeral to take place. These include the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, The National Gallery, Tate Modern and Tate Britain which will be closed all day.
