After making it all the way to last year’s FIFA Women's World Cup Final, the Lionesses are back in action as they take part in a series of friendlies against Austria and Italy.

But how much exactly do they make as part of the national team? Despite their success on the pitch, which has seen them narrowly miss out on winning the World Cup and be crowned UEFA Women's Euro 2022 champions, the England Lionesses' wages are, still, shockingly low compared to the men's team.

Each player on the women's team received a bonus of £55,000 for winning Euro 2022. While this might seem like a lot, it's nothing compared to the £300,000 each player on the men's team got just for reaching the final of Euro 2020.

If they had won, they would have gotten £460,000 each. Even though the Women's Super League (WSL) is the top league for women's football in England, and has gained more attention after the Lionesses' win, the players still don't earn as much as you may think. The average yearly wage for a WSL player is reported to be £47,000.
