A six-year-old girl from Heathhall raised more than £300 to deliver winter treat bags to those in need.Halle Cook raised money by doing litter picks after her mum Sara encouraged her to participate in fundraising. The Heathhall Primary pupil used the cash to purchase 34 winter bags containing a hot water bottle, blanket, coffee, tea bags, biscuits and a letter from Halle.Mum Sara, 36, said: “We have delivered everything last week and it has been so heartwarming to see how happy it made many people.“Halle has enjoyed doing this little project and learne how impactful a kind gesture can be to someone.

I am proud of Halle. Ever since we decided together what she could do, she has shown great interest.“I have overheard her explaining it to her friends and she has come up with her own suggestions on who to give some bags to.

I think she is also proud of herself, which I love. She can be quite shy but she has hand delivered almost all the bags personally to each person’s door which probably took about six or seven hours over two days.“A few bags went to people we knew but the large majority were all delivered to people we had never met before.

They were nominated by their family members, neighbours or friends.“Some people tried to offer Halle a ‘penny’ but we kindly refused.
