Drivers see red as Bathgate Pyramids transformed for Poppy Appeal
dailyrecord.co.ukThe M8 pyramids have been transformed into giant poppies to raise awareness of the Scottish Poppy Appeal.Drivers along one of Scotland’s busiest road will be greeted with the unusual sight after three giant poppies were painted onto the grass pyarmids near Bathgate.Groundsmen from Scottish Rugby Union were assisted by LineMarkUK, to complete the project at the Pyramids Business Park.They used 40 litres of red paint to create the vibrant 30 ft designs, spreading out large plastic sheets before spray painting the grass verge.The flowers were then filled in, with black and white centres.Poppyscotland hopes that the project will help raise awareness of its annual appeal, and their work supporting veterans, servicemen and women and their families throughout Scotland.A Poppyscotland spokesperson said: “We’re incredibly grateful to LineMarkUK, Scottish Rugby Union, the Pyramids Business Park, and Andrew Jack for their hard work to make this happen.“We hope these stunning displays will be an uplifting sight to everyone who drives past, as well as paying tribute to our Armed Forces community.” Don't miss the latest news from the West Lothian Courier.
