Andy Fletcher, one of the founding members of the electronic rock band Depeche Mode, has sadly passed away at the age of 60.
The news was announced on Thursday (May 26) by Andy‘s fellow band members. Click inside to read the statement… “We are shocked and filled with overwhelming sadness with the untimely passing of our dear friend, family member and bandmate Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher,” the statement read. “Fletch had a true heart of gold and was always there when you needed support, a lively conversation, a good laugh, or a cold pint.
Our hearts are with his family, and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and respect their privacy in this difficult time.” A cause of death has not been confirmed as of this time. Depeche Mode was formed in 1980 and the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
The group is best known for songs like “People Are People,” “Enjoy the Silence,” and “Heaven.” We’re sending our thoughts and condolences to Andy‘s loved ones during this difficult time.
