Daddy's boy! George takes cues from dad William as he turns 10 in new picture

Prince George looks all grown up and just like his dad Prince William in a new official portrait released for his tenth birthday.The royal family have released the new photo to mark the prince’s tenth birthday on Saturday (22 July), which shows the royal perched on some steps near the family home at Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor estate.

In the photo, the young prince wears a blue and white checked shirt with a pair of teal trousers and dark brown suede shoes as he smiles for the camera.

The photo was taken by Millie Pilkington who also took Kate and William’s private wedding portraits in 2011, recent birthday portraits for Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte and the family’s recent Father’s Day snap.This makes a change from some of George's more recent birthday photos, which were candid shots taken by mum Kate.

A source recently told OK! that the Prince’s birthday will be a small, family gathering with a few of his school friends in attendance.The source said: “William and Kate are very much family orientated so a family birthday bash will be held at Windsor.The King and Camilla are due to attend along with Kate’s parents and family. “There will also be some of George’s friends from school in attendance.” In his smart outfit, the prince looks just like his dad Prince William, with the father-son duo being seen increasingly at public events together as the future King grows up.
