Crash between car and tram causing delays

Long delays are being caused after a crash between a car and a tram in east Manchester. The crash happened between Edge Lane and Cemetery Road Metrolink stations on Ashton New Road, Droylsden, around 4.40pm today (April 18).

The collision has part suspended tram services Ashton-under-Lyne line with services now only operating between Eccles and Etihad Campus stops.

Metrolink tickets are being accepted on the 216, 217, and 219 bus services. With this tram line being on Ashton New Road itself there are also severe delays to road traffic.
