Cowboy builder admits scamming people across Greater Manchester

A builder who defrauded victims across Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire and Lancashire will be jailed later this year. Adam Priestley pleaded guilty to 19 counts of fraud by false representation at Leeds Crown Court on February 11, 2022. READ MORE: Manchester City doctor dies after falling 300ft from mountain where he proposed to wife 27 years earlier The charges come after the 40-year-old made false representations to his victims that building work would be carried out, YorkshireLive reports.

The offences took place between September 9, 2019, and October 8, 2021, in various locations across West Yorkshire. Manchester's courts are some of the busiest in the country with a vast array of cases heard every week.

They include Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Otley, Dewsbury and Wakefield, as well as Greater Manchester and Lancashire. Priestley, of no fixed address, is currently on remand and is set to be sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on March 25.
