Coronavirus infection rates across Greater Manchester remain far lower than the national average. The number of cases is continuing to fall in all ten boroughs.

Stockport continues to have the highest infection rate in the region. The borough recorded a rate of 288.2 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending February 18, according to the latest data from the UK Health Security Agency. In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 247.3 cases per 100,000 population. The infection rate in the region is lower than the national average, which is 426.1 cases per 100,000 people.

A total of 7,013 people tested positive for coronavirus across Greater Manchester in the week which ended on February 18. The Greater Manchester weekly total has decreased by 3155 cases compared to the previous week, which means the infection rate was down 31 per cent in the last week..
