Coronation Street star Colson Smith has opened up about his weight loss journey, which gained momentum in lockdown, explaining that the timing of the Covid-19 restrictions played in his favour.

Over the past two years, the actor, who’s played Craig Tinker on the soap since 2011, has lost 10 stone after changing his perspective on life during lockdown.

The star took up running, which has since become a huge passion of his, before competing in ITV competition The Games, going up against five other male celebrities in a series of sporting events.

On Wednesday’s Loose Women, Colson, 23, spoke more about his weight loss while appearing alongside his Corrie co-stars Ben Price and Jack P Shepherd, with whom he also runs the podcast The Sofa Cinema Club.
