A food funding pot worth £.2.5 million has been made available to Ayrshire families unable to access groceries during the coronavirus lockdown.

The Scottish Government food fund for crisis-hit families is worth more than £30 million to those struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.A total of £838,000 has been allocated to East Ayrshire and is designed to support those most in need, including families with children who are eligible for free school meals, older people, those with long-term health conditions and pregnant women.A total of £1.038m was made available to North Ayrshire residents while £625,000 has been allocated to those in South Ayrshire.Kilmarnock and Irvine Valley MSP Willie Coffey said: “Coronavirus has brought enormous
