There have been complaints of overcrowding at this year's Chinese New Year parade which some disappointed attendees have claimed was 'badly organised.' Record crowds are said to have attended the famous Dragon Parade on Sunday afternoon (February 11).
The parade through the streets of Manchester city centre, which town hall chiefs said thousands were expected to attend, was held to mark the beginning of the Year of the Dragon.
It was headed up by a 175ft Chinese Dragon, accompanied by traditional lion and ribbon dancers, Chinese Opera performers, twelve Zodiac animals and Ancient Army characters, as well as choir performances and Chengdu acrobats.
