West Lothian raised the Commonwealth Flag outside West Lothian Civic Centre to mark Commonwealth Day.The annual event sees member countries of the Commonwealth celebrate their links with one another.The event was attended by locals and council employees and included speeches delivered by the Lord-Lieutenant for West Lothian, Ms Moira Niven MBE and Provost Tom Kerr.
Children from local primary schools including St Ninian’s, St John Ogilvie, Torphichen and Williamston also in attendance waving flags from a number of Commonwealth countries.The Commonwealth Flag was raised at 9.30am on March 9 and was followed by two songs performed by children from Howden St Andrew’s Primary School Choir.Lord-Lieutenant for West Lothian, Moira Niven MBE, said:
