West Lothian Council will receive £1.7m from national funds to help those hardest hit by the Covid-19 emergency.Help and assistance is being provided to West Lothian residents and community groups as the outbreak takes its toll.West Lothian Council is delivering a series of financial support measures across several separate programmes.

The funding will be spent on assistance to individuals, third sector and community groups and community councils.The council will receive the money from the national Covid-19 hardship fund.

There will be a £400,000 increase to the Scottish Welfare Fund to provide crisis grants for people experiencing hardship.Third Sector Hardship Funding of £327,000 will help enable the sector to support vulnerable
