Colman Domingo, Ryan Gosling and More Men Who Rewrote Red Carpet Fashion This Year

He oozed old Hollywood glamour when he walked up the Palais’ red-carpet stairway in a white Giorgio Armani tux. His movie star status was sealed at the Golden Globes with another Armani tux — but this time, he went double-breasted blue. “It’s such a fun creative process,” Melton tells Variety of working with his stylist Samantha McMillen. “She comes in with a bunch of clothes and we just put on what feels nice.
It’s exciting. It’s an expression.” And so are accessories. As much as color helped men stake their individuality, jewelry and watches made some shine more than others.
Barry Keoghan complemented his red Louis Vuitton ensemble at the Golden Globes with a brooch from Tiffany & Co. Gosling often dons a watch from Tag Heuer while Melton paired his Globes look with an Omega timepiece, Neil Lane cufflinks and a diamond stud earring from Briony Raymond New York. “Brooches are always great to give a pop on the carpet,” says stylist Warren Alfie Baker, whose clients include “All of Us Strangers” star Andrew Scott, Ben Affleck and Glen Powell. “Rings are also a good way to show some personality.
