A classic British catchphrase that was made famous by an advert is set to endure "in 100 years" as it continues to be adopted by the younger generation.
The phrase 'does exactly what it says on the tin', which was first introduced by Ronseal three decades ago, is still being used today, with one X (formerly Twitter) user revealing their child has picked up the slogan.
This led to other social media users predicting that the saying would remain in use for many more years. The user posted: "My 16yo just used the phrase 'does what it says on the tin'.
People are still going to be saying this in 100 years' time and only linguistic scholars will know it originated in an advert for Ronseal quick-drying wood stain.
