In 2009, Brown, who was 19 at the time, was arrested for hitting his former flame, Rihanna, then 20. He pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault.He later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault stemming from a 2013 altercation outside a hotel in Washington, D.C.
