Celtic draw was great, but let's not get carried away, says Motherwell star

Stephen O’Donnell hopes Motherwell’s 1-1 draw at Celtic Park means their run of poor results is over – but warned his side not to get carried away.The Steelmen head into a vital run of games, with home games against Dundee and St Johnstone either side of a Tuesday trip to Ross County and a visit to St Mirren in Paisley on December 16.While O’Donnell concedes that could yield points that can push them back up the Premiership table, he says the focus has to be on Dundee on Saturday alone.“I think on a run of 10 games without a win, it’s important that we don’t get carried away,” he said.“We’ve got Dundee, which is a game we want to compete in.“It’s at home, and I think we obviously want to be winning our home games, so let’s take the Dundee game [in isolation].“I’m hoping the run is over, we’re looking for positive results, but it’s one game at a time.“When you find yourself on a bad run it’s always important to try and stop it as soon as you can, and we need that win.“But what we lost after the first couple of games, is that we had very good performances against St Mirren, Rangers and Celtic, and then we started to lose that.“Saturday was a very good performance, as a team, which is the most important thing.“Motherwell need to be a team to compete, and I think we have been, so hopefully we can do that against Dundee.”O’Donnell hopes fans will get right behind the team at Fir Park on Saturday.He said: “We’ve been under a bit of pressure, hopefully the fans will get behind us after that performance and result.“It’s great to see the fans that come.
