Céline Dion has revealed she is working her way back to recovery, and is already planning a new show in her beloved Las Vegas.
The French-Canadian chanteuse has given her only UK interview to BBC News, in which she revealed she had struggled to sing on stage several years before she was diagnosed with the neurological disorder, Stiff Person Syndrome (which causes muscles to spasm around the body), and took to requesting her famous songs be brought down a key when she felt really challenged. “It was just feeling a little strange, like a little spasm,” Dion told BBC News. “My voice was struggling, I was starting to push a little bit.” Despite her struggles, the singer shared she felt pressure to continue, knowing her tour had been booked out up to a year and a half in advance, and she felt she couldn’t cancel.
Dion eventually received a diagnosis and shared the news with her huge fanbase in an Instagram video in December 2022. The superstar’s Las Vegas residency ran across 16 years and earned more than $680million.
Now she says she plans to return to that same stage as soon as she feels physically able. She told the BBC: “I’ll be on stage.
