Cambuslang Rangers co-boss Billy Campbell says things are going are against football matches at the minute after another call-off.Camby’s West of Scotland Football League Conference B clash with Greenock was called off due to a Covid outbreak in the opposition camp.Campbell’s side are still top of the division and have a game in hand over St Cadoc’s in second, despite having not played a league game since November 27th’s 2-0 win over Dalry Thistle. The Wee Rangers take on Premier Division side Darvel this Saturday in the South Challenge Cup third round and Campbell says the Greenock game had to be postponed. He said: “We are pretty gutted about it.

We had a bounce game last week and then we trained with the pretence of getting back into things on Saturday.“But Greenock have got some issues with the Covid situation they have and there are so many numbers out.

The game had to be called off.“It is what it is but first and foremost, the health and safety of the player and their families has to come first.“That is at the forefront of everyone’s minds at the minute so that has to come first.

We’ll just need to play the games when we can.”It’s not just Covid which is causing havoc to the lower league fixture schedule.
