The Formula One champion has been absent from social media since December 2021 after deciding to take time away from the spotlight following his crushing defeat to Max Verstappen.
Much to the delight of his 26. 8million Instagram followers, Sir Lewis, 37, shared his first post on the platform in almost two months on Saturday.
In the grid post, Sir Lewis is seen smiling while posing against a backdrop of canyons. ‘I’ve been gone. Now I’m back!’ the racer captioned the image.
On Sunday, he followed that up in his Instagram stories with a stunning view of the New York sunset and skyline from inside an apartment, while also congratulating professional surfer Kelly Slater winning his eighth Pipeline Pro.
