Residents have spoke of their concern after cops descended on killer Aaron Campbell's family home on the Isle of Bute. Emergency services raced on Monday morning to the house Campbell lived in when he murdered six-year-old Alesha MacPhail.

The property, on Ardbeg Road in Rothesay, was attended by police, CID and paramedics following an incident at the start of the week.

It is understood that a woman was taken by ambulance to Inverclyde Royal Hospital in Greenock following an emergency response.

A local source in Rothesay said: “Police, CID and ambulance staff were at the house for quite a while.“Someone was taken away in an ambulance and then taken to the mainland.“It’s a lovely big white house, not far at all from the woods where Aaron’s crime was committed.“The police have been going back and forward.“Everyone obviously knows the family in Rothesay and there’s a lot of concern about what’s happened on Monday.”Campbell, who was 16 at the time, lived at the home with mother Janette when he raped and murdered schoolgirl Alesha MacPhail on July 2, 2018.It is unclear if any members of Campbell's family still reside there.Police confirmed they received 'a report of concern for a person' at the property around 10am on Monday.A spokesperson said: “We received a report of concern for a person at a property on Ardbeg Road in Rothesay around 9am on Monday, January 24, 2022.“Emergency services attended and the person was taken to hospital for treatment.”Monster Campbell, now 19, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 27 years however that term was later cut to 24 years on appeal.
