A teenager was arrested after he was caught with two parcels and a handful of apples in the countryside outside a north Manchester Prison.
The 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to convey articles into HMP Forest Bank, in Salford, on Sunday, February 6.
Two parcels, thought to contain drugs and phones were recovered, alongside four red apples. Police have since confirmed that the fruit is often thrown over the fences before the items, by those hoping to illegally pass the items into prison. READ MOREWhen will this end?
