A blaze tore through a home in Bury on Monday afternoon (June 17) as fire crews and police descended on the residential street.
Neighbours said they saw first saw smoke coming from the detached property before firefighters descended on the scene at around 4pm.
Three fire engines attended the incident on Walshaw Road, in Bury, and remained at the scene throughout the evening tackling the fire. No serious injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the blaze has not yet been confirmed. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At just after 4pm this afternoon (Monday 17 June), fire crews were called to reports of fire at a home on Walshaw Road, Bury. “Three fire engines from Bury, Whitefield and Ramsbottom with the aerial appliance from Bolton Central quickly attended the incident. “Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and one positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire.
