Bernard Higgins rules OUT Celtic role after police chief's potential appointment met with Parkhead protests

Bernard Higgins has stated he will NOT be joining Celtic when he retires from police duty. The former Police Scotland commander has been rumoured to be landing a top senior security role at Celtic Park.

Higgins was heavily involved in the creation of the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act in 2012 which the Fans Against Criminalisation campaign group said had ended trust between supporters and police.Celtic fans had been firm in their response to the potential appointment.Some supporters threw tennis balls onto the pitch in a match away to Dundee to signify the ball was in the clubs court over the appointment, with fans' feelings made clear.
