With the latest series of The Apprentice now in its third week it’s safe to say that the rivalry between the contestants had escalated to breaking point as each budding entrepreneur hopes to impress Lord Sugar and earn his coveted investment.

Yet sadly, after a mere three weeks in the competition, Dr.Asif Munaf became the latest star to be shown the door. Following the firing, viewers were left divided as they said struggled to decide whether they were convinced the right candidate had been eliminated, with many taking to social media to share their thoughts.

One fan who felt Asif deserved to be axed, wrote: "Right person fired by a country mile," while a second fan soon echoed the opinion as they added: "Good to see the nastiest ever candidate on @TheApprentice got sacked." Meanwhile not everyone was quite so convinced, with one writing: "Asif was fired, he didn’t deserve this. @DrAsifOfficial The show won’t be the same without you." A second fan also agreed adding: "owwww man I didn’t want Asif to be fired." Asif’s downfall came after the third task of the series saw him take on the role of project manager as his team were asked to design their very own immersive virtual escape-room which would require consumers to navigate their way through a series of obstacles and puzzles while using VR software.

Unlike the previous two weeks in which the teams had been divided by gender, this week Lord Sugar decided to mix things up, with Asif being joined by Maura, Onyeka, Amina and Sam from the girls team, alongside Phil, Jack and Virdi.
