BBC Radio Manchester presenter Chelsea Norris has spoken out about her dramatic caesarean birth. Chelsea, who had a natural childbirth with her daughter Minnie at 38 weeks, had passed the 40 week stage with her son Barney when she realised something might be wrong.
She decided to get checked out when she was asked by a neighbour during VE Day celebrations if she was feeling a lot of movement from her baby and she realised she wasn't.
She had an emergency caesarean after her baby's heart rate dropped and it was then discovered that she had suffered a placental abruption, a rare condition where the placenta comes away from the wall of the womb affecting up to one in 100 pregnancies.
