An Ayrshire hospital unit has been shut down today by health chiefs. The Minor Injuries Unit in Girvan Community Hospital has been closed due to "unforeseen circumstances."NHS Ayrshire & Arran confirmed they had to close down the unit earlier today.Patients were told to contact NHS24 on 111 for advice if they have a minor injury.

According to NHS Ayrshire & Arran's website, minor injuries can cover cuts that need stiches, broken bones, sprains and minor burns.
