Armed police descend on Scots Co-op store as man arrested

A man has been arrested after an attempted robbery at a Co-op store in Fife.Armed officers descended onto the shop on Shamrock Street around 11.40am on Saturday morning.

Locals reported seeing armed police and a dog unit in the surrounding area. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called to a report of a robbery at a premises on Shamrock Street, Dunfermline.“Officers attended.

There were no reports of injuries.“A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”Yesterday, a 36-year-old appeared in private at Dunfermline Sheriff Court after following an alleged armed robbery at a Nisa shop in Dunfermline on Thursday.

Robert Danskin, from Dunfermline, faces charges of assault and attempted robbery.He also faces a charge under the firearms act.He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.His next appearance in court will be within the next eight days.No one required medical treatment following the incident and a BB gun was recovered by police.
