Anthony Grainger family's fury after 'collapse' of police watchdog investigation into flawed GMP probe which ended with his fatal shooting

direct to your inboxThe family of a dad who was shot dead during an armed police swoop nine years ago following a seriously flawed investigation have spoken of their dismay at the 'collapse' of a watchdog probe.The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said today (Wednesday) two of its three independent investigations arising from the fatal shooting of Anthony Grainger have been ended after investigators failed to obtain 'sensitive' police material.

Mr Grainger, from Salford, died on March 3, 2012, when he was shot in the chest by a single bullet from a Heckler and Koch MP5 sub-machine gun fired by a police marksman known only as Q9.
