A number of flood 'warnings' and flood 'alerts' remained in force across Greater Manchester on Tuesday morning. A Met Office weather warning for rain, however, is no longer in place for the Greater Manchester region, easing fears of further torrential downpours after a day of consistent rainfall on Monday.
Roads were reported flooded across the city region last night, with several rivers said to have reached record levels. A total of 11 flood warnings remained in force today.
It's the second most severe alert issued by the Environment Agency. FLOOD WARNINGS: FLOOD ALERTS Bus services were being diverted in some parts of Greater Manchester on Tuesday.
The roundabout on Mainway, Middleton, flooded, leading to diversions, said Stagecoach. Localised flooding was also reported in Golborne, Wigan.
