manchestereveningnews.co.ukA wave of bank holidays in May means a variety of benefit payments will be issued on different days than usual. Around 12 different Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) benefits will be paid early next week due to the bank holiday on May 1.
Due to the holiday, millions of benefit claimants will not receive their payments on that day. Instead, the DWP will issue the money into their bank accounts early, with the majority landing on Friday, April 28.
Affected benefits will include: Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, Child Benefit, Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Income Support, Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), Pension Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), State Pension, Tax Credits, and Universal Credit, Hull Live reports. However, May 1 is not the only bank holiday that will affect DWP payments throughout May. Monday, May 8 will mark the King's Coronation and has been declared a bank holiday for 2023.
