Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. Trump was born and raised in the New York City borough of Queens, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School. He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.

The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television show, from 2003 to 2015. Forbes estimates his net worth to be $3.1 billion.

A member of the Democratic Party, Biden is the presumptive Democratic nominee for president in the 2020 election. He unsuccessfully sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 1988 and in 2008.

Donald Trump 'planning to visit golf resorts in Scotland and Ireland next month'

Donald Trump is expected to come to Scotland next month to visit his luxury golf resorts. Reports from the States suggest the former president is planning to roll up at his links courses in Ayrshire and Aberdeenshire.He is also expected to stop off at his mother Mary MacLeod’s former home in Tong, on the Isle of Lewis, where she was raised before emigrating to the US.

Trump’s Scottish holiday will follow a stay at the Trump International Hotel & Golf Links near Doonbeg, in County Clare, Ireland, next month.Bosses at the resort on the Atlantic coast expect the 76-year-old to land at Shannon Airport on May 3.

Trump’s visit to Ireland comes just weeks after his successor, Joe Biden, took part in a four-day Irish visit. There is speculation the two men, who went head to head in the 2020 US election, could be ­candidates again next year.Last August, the Sunday Mail revealed Trump had been forced to scrap plans to visit Scotland after an FBI raid on his Florida home.

His visit in 2018 cost as much as £3.5million. During that trip, thousands of anti-Trump protesters paraded in Edinburgh.There were also protests when the billionaire played golf at his resort in Turnberry, Ayrshire.
