Airdrie boss Rhys McCabe says goalkeeper Josh Rae is a major doubt for Sunday’s SPFL Trust Trophy final against TNS, after suffering a bleed on the brain.But the Diamonds boss says football takes a back seat in that scenario, and the big keeper is back home recovering.Rae was missing from the squad on Saturday as Airdrie beat Arbroath 5-2, with new signing Robbie Hemfrey making his debut.The keeper was injured in a collision with Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s Aribim Pepple during a 0-0 draw on March 9, with concussion the immediate worry.But McCabe says a scan revealed further complications.He said: “Josh suffered a small bleed to the brain, which wasn’t ideal.

Thankfully, with Josh’s head knock, he went to the hospital on Saturday night.“We were there on Sunday morning through the night, he got his CT scan, which came back and said he had a small bleed and trauma, so I don’t know if that’s initially from the impact itself.“The big man is here [at the Arbroath game] today, he’s recovering well, he’s been home, he’s passed all the tests, is clear, he’s in good spirits.“There’s a wee bit of swelling and a black eye, but the big man’s all good.“The most important thing for him is his health, to make sure he’s doing things correctly, and football takes a wee bit of a back seat just now.”Striker Gabby McGill missed Saturday’s win due to a hamstring knock he also picked up in Inverness, and McCabe said: “Gabby felt his hamstring, so I’m hoping it’s not a long-term one.“It would be a wee bit frustrating with Gabby because he’s been in and out, and you think he’s come back against Dundee United and Dunfermline and got goals, and getting into a rhythm and into the team, and then he gets that wee set-back with his hamstring.“It’s
