Zara McDermott on 'brutal' reality of Idaho murders crime scene
ok.co.ukReality star Zara McDermott reveals that she went all the way to the US for her brand-new documentary, The Idaho Murders: Trial By TikTok.
In the one-off BBC Three program, Zara heads to the small town of Moscow where the horrific crime took place. After being gripped by the case on her socials, Zara explains what it felt like seeing the place in real life. “Being at the house was a strange experience,” says Zara. “I’d seen so much of that house online and it was the heart of the investigation, the heart of where the sleuths were looking for clues.

What happens on social media, especially TikTok, is that the algorithm will send you back to the same topic you’ve consumed. “Every day I was seeing the engagement on the videos increasing and to be honest, I was absolutely hooked.” Zara was so engrossed that she even pitched the show to her commissioner, “I remember texting them saying, ‘Have you seen this case?
