Diana Vickers and her "marmite" singing style was one of the most iconic X Factor performers on The X Factor. The singer shot to fame in 2008 after her standout audition featuring a cover of Damien Rice's The Blower's Daughter.
Giving it her all to show judges including Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh, the then 17-year-old sailed through the initial stages of the smash hit reality show.
She was one of the favourites to win during her year of competing, despite stiff competition from the likes of JLS and eventual champion, Alexandra Burke.
The Blackburn-born teenager was described as a "little hippy" by Irish pop expert Louis, her style of singing was likened to "marmite" by Simon - and her unusual hand gestures led to her being labelled "The Claw" - but she was still tipped for big things.
