EastEnders cast and crew have come out in their droves to share tributes to the late actress Anna Karen, who played the beloved Aunt Sal on the BBC soap.The On The Buses star sadly died Tuesday night, February 22, at the age of 85 in a devastating house fire.
The news has sent shockwaves throughout her former colleagues. EastEnders was one of the first to pay tribute to the fan-favourite Walford staple, as a spokesperson for the soap shared everyone has been “deeply saddened” by the news of her death. “We are deeply saddened to hear that Anna Karen has passed away,” the statement read.

While former Sam Mitchell actress Danniella Westbrook reposted the news article on her Twitter page, and said she was devastated to learn of the loss. “I’m devastated at the loss of lovely Anna, my condolences to her family,” the star wrote. “May she Rest In Peace,” she posted next to a heart emoji.
