Baked potatoes are renowned for their role as a satisfying meal due to their simplicity in preparation; however, the prolonged cooking time in an oven is often seen as their only drawback.Typically, fully baking a spud surpasses the hour mark, which might not cut it if you're after a quick dinner solution.

Luckily, Karli Bitner, culinary expert and founder of Cooking with Karli, has revealed what she considers a "game-changer" hack for rustling up a jacket potato in a mere 10 minutes.Karli explained: "A baked potato is the perfect side for so many dinners but I never think about making them until it's too late to pop them into the oven.

That's why knowing how to make baked potatoes in the microwave in minutes is one of my favourite dinner time hacks!"This method dramatically reduces the cooking time and will even help make the baked potato fluffier on the inside thanks to the microwave retaining moisture in food while cooking, reports the Express."Using a microwave to bake your potatoes is a super quick way to get a hearty side on the table," Karli said. "Done in minutes, these are soft and tender with the absolute minimum effort possible."If you fancy whipping up your own microwaved baked potato, start by washing your spuds before piercing each one with a fork to enable steam dissipation throughout the microwave cooking process.

Next, position the potatoes on a microwave-safe dish and cook them on high for five minutes.Once the timer rings, flip the potatoes and give them another five minutes in the microwave.
