Woman dies after vehicle bursts into flames on Ayrshire road

Emergency crews were scrambled to the town's B780 just before 4am yesterday morning to reports of a motor on fire.A 56-year-old woman was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary by ambulance but tragically she later died.Police Scotland has confirmed today that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the inferno and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.45am on Sunday, August 13, we were called to a report of a vehicle fire off the B780, Ardrossan. “Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished. “A 56-year-old woman was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary by ambulance, where she later died.
