On Wednesday night’s episode, her incorrect diction cost her the win.The category was “Same Letter” and the response was: “congenial company & clever conversation.” “Congenial” was mispronounced and host Pat Sajak wasn’t happy to give her points.“Uh, no,” the longtime emcee, 77, said when Williams uttered the phrase wrong.
Player Steve Sporre then said the reply correctly and scored the points. Viewers took to X (formerly Twitter) to note their shock at the mistake.“This is the equivalent of fumbling the ball out of the endzone,” one person wrote. “How did that ever happen?
