West Lothian recycling centres see a 38 per cent increase in use since reopening

A number of measures have been in place across all recycling centres in line with national guidance to ensure that social distancing is maintained and the surrounding road systems haven’t been overwhelmed by the increase in traffic.The public have been thanked for their cooperation and support in helping staff to ensure a smooth reopening.Executive councillor for the environment Tom Conn said: “The public must be thanked for their cooperation in allowing us to safely reopen our recycling centres.“We will continue to follow national guidance and staff have worked hard to ensure that a process is in place to allow visitors to dispose of their waste in a safe and efficient manner.“All sites remain open seven days a week with traffic calming.
