Greater Manchester is set to be hit by further rainfall tonight and into tomorrow - Tuesday. But according to Met Office forecasters, showers are expected be far lighter than the torrential downpours which lashed the region on Sunday and Monday.

Forecasters predict patches of more heavy rainfall tonight and into the early evening, followed by less chance of rain into the night.

Tuesday morning should start dry - with just 10 and five per cent chances of rain from 7am. The Met Office said of Greater Manchester: "Further showers this evening and overnight, though some clear spells too, especially inland.
