Motorists who drive electric vehicles have been issued a warning as their cars may not be prepared for the winter ahead. The cold temperatures could have an impact on an electric car's lithium-ion battery, and may lead to you having to charge your vehicle more regularly.

Olly Jones, co-founder at elmo says: "If you have an electric vehicle it’s really important to make sure you keep your vehicle charged and allow more time for charging."Batteries work slower in colder weather and so when the temperature drops you need to make sure you’re keeping your vehicle as charged as possible, around 40-80% is ideal.
