TV’s Alan Titchmarsh - ‘Strictly Come Dancing want me, but my knees won’t take it’
ok.co.ukIf there's one thing we know about TV stalwart and gardening expert Alan Titchmarsh, it's that he's game for a laugh, but there are certain activities that are just a step too far - literally!
In an exclusive chat with OK! the down-to-earth 74 year old admitted that whilst hit ITV show, Strictly Come Dancing comes knocking most years to try and tempt him into foxtrotting his way across the stage, his body - and wife - have other plans. "Strictly asked me again this year for the sixth time," he admitted. "My wife [Alison] taught dance and she said my knees won’t take the lifts and I think she’s quite right.
So I stay clear of that one." It’s a pity - a spot of glitter and fake tan would be a fun change of scene for the star - but perhaps a dose of Ant and Dec in the jungle is more his scene?
He laughed: "I was asked to do I’m A Celebrity last year and I turned that one down for about the third time, too. "That’s not my bag, I’m not a reality TV type.
