Gyles Brandreth made a cheeky dig at Nicola Sturgeon on Friday during his headlines segment on This Morning. The broadcaster spoke to Andi Peters and Josie Gibson on the daytime TV show about what's happening in the news as he appeared live from Edinburgh, where he's performing at the Fringe.

Talking about his experience at the festival so far, he said: "I've had an amazing week, I went to Edinburgh Castle as a guest of the governor of Edinburgh Castle to see the incredible Military Tattoo, that was an amazing event."Last night, I met up with Nicola Sturgeon, so I am really mingling with the locals."The star couldn't help himself and then made a brazen joke about the former First Minister's "campervan"."I was trying to persuade her to lend me her campervan because It's very expensive staying up here and I thought maybe she could help out."He made the joke referring to the luxury motorhome seized at the home of the politician's mother-in-law's in the midst of Operation Branchform, which was dubbed the 'SNP battle bus.'However the joke went over Andi's head as the This Morning presenter retorted: "Has she really got a campervan?" Gyles then replied: "No, it's a joke, we make jokes up here," as Josie quickly tried to move the segment on while stifling laughter above sniggers that could be heard across the studio at Gyles' cheeky joke.
