The stars of HBO’s highly-anticipated new series The Idol have arrived at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival! The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp were joined by many other cast members, as well as series director and co-creator Sam Levinson, on Monday night (May 22) in Cannes, France.
Also in attendance were Jennie Ruby Jane, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Hank Azaria, Sophie Mudd, and co-creator Reza Fahim.
Here’s a plot summary: “After a nervous breakdown derailed Jocelyn’s (Depp) last tour, she’s determined to claim her rightful status as the greatest and sexiest pop star in America.
Her passions are reignited by Tedros (The Weeknd), a nightclub impresario with a sordid past. Will her romantic awakening take her to glorious new heights or the deepest and darkest depths of her soul?” The series will debut on HBO on Sunday, June 4.
