Teenage cyclist in critical condition after 'serious' crash with car on East Lancs Road

A teenage cyclist is in hospital with 'life-threatening injuries' following a crash on the East Lancashire Road. Police were called at around 2.55pm on Wednesday to reports that a grey Peugeot 3008 had collided with a cyclist on the East Lancs Road, close to the junction with Carr Lane in Leigh.

The cyclist - a 16-year-old boy - was taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition. Police are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.

Officers are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have had dash cam footage of the incident, or the moments before it.
