Teacher at Lanarkshire high school lied about experience in attempt to gain new job

A teacher at a high school in North Lanarkshire admitted breaching professional standards by lying on an application and at an interview for a new job.Jillian Hamilton-Cooper, who is a teacher at Calderhead High in Shotts applied for a job as a principal teacher at Armadale Academy in West Lothian but was discovered to have exaggerated her teaching experience and was found out when a reference was checked with her current employer.The science teacher falsely claimed she had experience of holding an acting principal teaching post, was a faculty head, and had been promoted to a middle leadership role during her four years at the Shotts school.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
