Even the British royals got into the Taylor Swift spirit on Friday at the traditional Changing of the Guard ceremony, where soldiers performed a brass band version of Swift’s hit Shake It Off outside Buckingham Palace.
The Royal Family posted the video on X, and captioned the video ‘Changing of the Guard (Taylor’s Version).’ The tribute came a few hours before Swift performed the first London night of her Eras tour.
The artist took to the stage at the capital’s Wembley Stadium in front of 89,000-crowd, where fans included Swift’s boyfriend NFL player Travis Kelce, Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan, actress Salma Hayek, model Cara Delevingne, the country’s opposition leader Kier Starmer, London mayor Sadiq Khan and, reportedly, Prince William in a private box.
Swift used the occasion to debut the first live performance on the tour of The Black Dog, speculated to reference her time living in London with her former partner actor Joe Alwyn.
