Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.
Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.
Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.
Taylor Swift fans scrambled to get their hands on the first batch of Eras Tour presale tickets which went live on Monday morning and people are already punting them at ridiculously overpriced amounts for her highly-anticipated Edinburgh gigs. The American pop star will belt out her much-loved hits across 13 dates in London, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Cardiff as part of her European stint and UK fans can catch her in Edinburgh for three dates on June the 7, 8 and 9.However, only a few hours after they went on sale folk are already trying to cash in knowing many fans missed out on nabbing the tickets which flew out the door and are now like gold dust to get their hands on in the Scottish capital. The Evening News reports that fans were left disappointed after noticing people attempting to re-sell the tickets for as much as £3,000 despite Ticketmaster's best efforts to throw off cons by introducing the Verified Fan system to ensure legitimate purchases. The ticketing website also revealed there would be an allocation limit of four tickets per household and those who exceed the limit will have all tickets cancelled.Ticketmaster introduced a verification system by registering a buyer’s email, phone number and account to stop scammers however it seems it hasn't stopped some from punting the tickets thousands of pounds above the face value. One single ticket for the front standing section at BT Murrayfield Stadium was listed for an eye-watering £3,531, having originally gone on sale for £170, whilst the publication also found a floor standing ticket could be purchased for £1,513 on Viagogo. It is expected that up to 70% of 'Swifties' could lose out on tickets for The Eras Tour in the UK.
